Walking under the arcades of the Piazza Grande we reach the Medieval Castle "Castello Visconti" with a courtyard of the 15th century and splendidly carved wooden ceilings. Today archeological museum of Roman times with a Memorial room of the Peace Conference of Locarno in 1925.

Church of San Francesco, choir and cupola 14 the century, nave rebuilt in 1528. Nearby is the former Franciscan convent.

Casa Rusca, a patrician house of the 17th century, today the official art gallery of the City of Locarno.

Chiesa Nova, approx. 1630, with elaborate baroque stucco decoration and a huge statue of Saint Cristoforoo on the façade.

Casa dei Canonici (Canon's house) with a beautiful courtyard and a portico of the 17th century.
